He is also a Rinzai Obaku sect monk, and at Kokusei Zenji Temple, which he rebuilt, you can enjoy a beginner-friendly zazen experience and appreciate Gyokusei's friendly Nanga paintings that he personally painted. After the 60-minute zazen experience, you will listen to the current chief priest explain the Zen teachings contained in Gyokusei's works while drinking tea, then move to Minami Awaji City Takikawa Memorial Museum Gyokuseikan (5-minute walk) and view the diverse works of Naohara Gyokusei that are housed in the museum. This is a special experience that expresses the trinity of Nanga, haiku, and Zen, and allows you to feel the spirit of "kugazenichinyo" and reflect on yourself. Naohara Gyokusei is a master of Nanga painting who has ties to Awaji Island. He was also a painter and haiku poet, and a Rinzai Obaku sect monk, and became the chief priest to rebuild the dilapidated Zen temple Kokusei-an (later Kokusei Zenji) on Awaji Island where he grew up. At Kokusei Zenji Temple, which was magnificently rebuilt by Gyokusei, you will first complete a beginner-friendly zazen experience (about 60 minutes), after which you will listen to the current head priest explain the Zen teachings contained in Gyokusei's works while drinking tea, and then view Gyokusei's intimate works, which are privately painted by Gyokusei and housed in a storehouse within the temple grounds. You will be able to view rare sliding door paintings and other works up close without any partitions. After that, you will move to the Takikawa Memorial Museum of Art Gyokuseikan (about a 5-minute walk, 200m), where many of Gyokusei's paintings are on display, and finally view the masterpieces housed in the museum's collection. You will be able to experience a special time to reexamine yourself through the spirit of "Kuga Zen Ichinyo," which expresses the trinity of Nanga, haiku, and Zen that Naohara Gyokusei loved.

This is an English SUP School & Tour for foreigners. It is a private tour that provides detailed lectures not only for those with SUP experience, but also for those who are trying SUP for the first time. The port city of Yokohama has a long history of development through its ports and canals. In addition, before World War II, this area had many military facilities, factories, and shipyards. After the war, the shipyards were reclaimed, and vast business towns, high-rise residential areas, large shopping malls, urban ropeways, and more were formed. In addition, the civil engineering heritage that formed the foundation of the port city of Yokohama is actively preserved and utilized, and you can enjoy a SUP tour while touring these places. We also recommend a SUP tour while viewing the world-famous Sakura. The Ooka River that connects to the port is a famous spot for Sakura. A Sakura SUP Tour on the Ooka River when the flowers are in full bloom will be a special experience. We also offer tours for groups and rental of megaSUPs that can accommodate six people, so even those who cannot swim can participate. Please contact us.

This tour will take you on a drive to search for creatures that represent Shiretoko in winter. The main focus will be on large birds of prey, such as Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, which are designated as natural monuments and visit Shiretoko in winter. You can use binoculars and telescopes to observe their fearless faces as they stare intently at the sea and rivers, searching for prey, and you may even see them diving into the sea to hunt fish. The excitement of finding a large eagle with a body length of 1m and a wingspan of over 2m will be an unforgettable memory. During this tour, you may also encounter Ezo deer and red foxes. *The number of eagles seen will decrease from mid- to late March. *The tour will mainly be by car, but we will occasionally get off the car to observe. Please wear shoes that can walk on snow (snow boots, ankle-length boots, boots, etc.). *Binoculars are available for free rental (no application required).

This special tour, only available in winter, involves walking through the forest at night on snowshoes. As you get used to the darkness and walk relying as much as possible only on your own eyes, the light of the snow, and the light of the stars, you will have a strange feeling as if a primitive power that had been sleeping inside you has returned. The sound of your feet crunching on the snow echoes through the silent forest at night, creating a tense atmosphere that is unique to this tour. If there is no moonlight and no clouds, countless stars will twinkle in the sky and you can enjoy stargazing. On the other hand, during a full moon, you can appreciate the beauty and brightness of the moon anew. Why not spend a fantastic night in Shiretoko on this tour?

The greatest feature of this tour is that you can enjoy the untouched nature of Shiretoko on snowshoes in areas that do not have well-maintained walking trails and still retain their pristine nature. During the tour, you can stop at a viewpoint with a spectacular view of the tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula, where you can see the hidden waterfalls that flow from the cliffs, frozen by the freezing cold. During the drift ice season, you will be amazed by the overwhelming beauty of the Okhotsk Sea covered in drift ice, and the silvery white Shiretoko Mountains towering behind the cliffs. On this tour, you will have a high chance of encountering wild animals such as Ezo deer and Ezo red foxes, so you can enjoy the winter nature of Shiretoko to the fullest. *Due to the lack of sufficient snowfall from early to late December and late March, there is a high possibility that you will be guided in boots instead of snowshoes. In that case, we will guide you to the same area tour in the snow-free season, "Shiretoko Primeval Forest & Spectacular Cliffs Trekking" (Adults: 5,100 yen, Children: 2,600 yen). Thank you for your understanding.
