We will take a 10km trip around Numashima, also known as "Onokoro Island" which is related to the creation myth described in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, on an active fishing boat. The tour will take you to see the megaliths and strange rocks such as "Kamitachigami Rock" and "Shimotachigami Rock" from the sea with the guidance of a veteran guide. You will learn about the legends, history, and crustal activity of "Onokoro Island" while looking at the rocks that are said to be related to the creation myth, and you will also learn about the history and fishing of Numashima. Numashima is where the creation myth of Japan lives on. There are many strange rocks such as Ame-no-Mihashira and Kamita-Kami Rock, and distinctive reefs that can only be seen from the sea. In addition to the Onokoro Shrine, there are many other places related to the myth on the island, so there are many spots you can enjoy even after disembarking the cruise. Fishermen with the skill to navigate through difficult areas plan tours of the surrounding area along with its myths to promote the charms of the region, and a person who moved here and loves Numashima acts as the coordinator and guide. They guide an amazing 300 groups (1,000 people) a year! You can enjoy private tours limited to one group per hour. Balancing their main business of fishing with tourism gives them an awareness of how to create new communities and increase the number of people connected to them in this remote island where the population continues to decline and vitality is being lost. Are the fishermen a little tough-looking? No, they are very kind. Please feel free to talk to them. ■Experience schedule① From 9:10 (Please board the Numashima Kisen ferry departing from Habu Port at 9:00. Your guide will be waiting for you at Numashima Port.) It is a private tour that provides detailed lectures not only for those with SUP experience, but also for those who are trying SUP for the first time. The main focus will be on large birds of prey, such as Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, which are designated as natural monuments and visit Shiretoko in winter. You can use binoculars and telescopes to observe their fearless faces as they stare intently at the sea and rivers, searching for prey, and you may even see them diving into the sea to hunt fish. The excitement of finding a large eagle with a body length of 1m and a wingspan of over 2m will be an unforgettable memory. During this tour, you may also encounter Ezo deer and red foxes. *The number of eagles seen will decrease from mid- to late March. *The tour will mainly be by car, but we will occasionally get off the car to observe. Please wear shoes that can walk on snow (snow boots, ankle-length boots, boots, etc.). *Binoculars are available for free rental (no application required).

This special tour, only available in winter, involves walking through the forest at night on snowshoes. As you get used to the darkness and walk relying as much as possible only on your own eyes, the light of the snow, and the light of the stars, you will have a strange feeling as if a primitive power that had been sleeping inside you has returned. The sound of your feet crunching on the snow echoes through the silent forest at night, creating a tense atmosphere that is unique to this tour. If there is no moonlight and no clouds, countless stars will twinkle in the sky and you can enjoy stargazing. On the other hand, during a full moon, you can appreciate the beauty and brightness of the moon anew. Why not spend a fantastic night in Shiretoko on this tour?

The greatest feature of this tour is that you can enjoy the untouched nature of Shiretoko on snowshoes in areas that do not have well-maintained walking trails and still retain their pristine nature. During the tour, you can stop at a viewpoint with a spectacular view of the tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula, where you can see the hidden waterfalls that flow from the cliffs, frozen by the freezing cold. During the drift ice season, you will be amazed by the overwhelming beauty of the Okhotsk Sea covered in drift ice, and the silvery white Shiretoko Mountains towering behind the cliffs. On this tour, you will have a high chance of encountering wild animals such as Ezo deer and Ezo red foxes, so you can enjoy the winter nature of Shiretoko to the fullest. *Due to the lack of sufficient snowfall from early to late December and late March, there is a high possibility that you will be guided in boots instead of snowshoes. In that case, we will guide you to the same area tour in the snow-free season, "Shiretoko Primeval Forest & Spectacular Cliffs Trekking" (Adults: 5,100 yen, Children: 2,600 yen). Thank you for your understanding.
