Shirakawa-go Ogimachi Gassho-zukuri Village is the village with the largest number of Gassho-zukuri houses remaining. The name Gassho-zukuri literally means "like praying hands". Gassho Village will take you back to pre-modern Japan. Climb the Shirakawa-go observation deck to look out over the village and enjoy the views of a time gone by. Shirakawa-go is worth a repeat visit as it shows different faces with each passing season. From the magnificent cherry blossom season to the lush green summer, from the fiery autumn leaves to the quiet white winter, Shirakawa-go always has a spectacular charm.
