Many people ask about the art of incense art, and one of them is the ancient group incense called "Genjiko". In all schools, "Genjiko" is still practiced today. The design of the answer (listening name) based on the 54 plasters of the Tale of Genji is famous as "Genjiko no zu", a traditional Japanese pattern that is used in various traditional Japanese patterns such as lacquerware and kimonos. In this experience, you will be able to experience a digest of what Genjiko is like at an incense gathering, and how to listen to the scent and give an answer. Sitting upright is difficult, and incense gatherings are difficult to get into. However, this plan allows those who are interested in what Genjiko is like to fully experience it. After enjoying Genjiko, you will create your own fragrance like the aristocrats of the Heian period when the Tale of Genji was written. The Mushio area of Yokoshibahikari-cho, Sanbu-gun, Chiba Prefecture, where the rice rural landscape of sparkling flames dance spreads out, and the Buddhist play "Kiraigo" (nationally designated important intangible folk cultural property) has been going on for 800 years. Milky Queen, produced on this land, won a gold medal in a rice contest. The best rice is cooked in a hearth made of this soil. Experience the "world's best rice ball" in the best environment, provided by Mushio's hearth. Local old ladies are looking forward to meeting you. "Earth": The hearth is made of clayey natural soil. Nearby, there is the Tonozuka Himezuka, where many clay clay figurines have been excavated. Balance your mind and body with "earthing," a health method that involves walking barefoot on the ground. "Water": All locally grown crops are grown with water from Mushio. Mushio's groundwater is used for cooking rice. In spring and summer, the entire rice field is filled with water. Naohara Gyokusei is a master of Nanga painting who grew up on Awaji Island. He is also a Rinzai Obaku sect monk, and at Kokusei Zenji Temple, which he rebuilt, you can enjoy a beginner-friendly zazen experience and appreciate Gyokusei's friendly Nanga paintings that he personally painted. After the 60-minute zazen experience, you will listen to the current chief priest explain the Zen teachings contained in Gyokusei's works while drinking tea, then move to Minami Awaji City Takikawa Memorial Museum Gyokuseikan (5-minute walk) and view the diverse works of Naohara Gyokusei that are housed in the museum. This is a special experience that expresses the trinity of Nanga, haiku, and Zen, and allows you to feel the spirit of "kugazenichinyo" and reflect on yourself. Naohara Gyokusei is a master of Nanga painting who has ties to Awaji Island. He was also a painter and haiku poet, and a Rinzai Obaku sect monk, and became the chief priest to rebuild the dilapidated Zen temple Kokusei-an (later Kokusei Zenji) on Awaji Island where he grew up. At Kokusei Zenji Temple, which was magnificently rebuilt by Gyokusei, you will first complete a beginner-friendly zazen experience (about 60 minutes), after which you will listen to the current head priest explain the Zen teachings contained in Gyokusei's works while drinking tea, and then view Gyokusei's intimate works, which are privately painted by Gyokusei and housed in a storehouse within the temple grounds. You will be able to view rare sliding door paintings and other works up close without any partitions. After that, you will move to the Takikawa Memorial Museum of Art Gyokuseikan (about a 5-minute walk, 200m), where many of Gyokusei's paintings are on display, and finally view the masterpieces housed in the museum's collection. You will be able to experience a special time to reexamine yourself through the spirit of "Kuga Zen Ichinyo," which expresses the trinity of Nanga, haiku, and Zen that Naohara Gyokusei loved.

After that, we will cook salt in an outdoor stove between the bakery "Namamai Pan" and the private lodging "Piyopiyo House Kumikami" in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture. On the way, we will prepare a fluffy sandwich made of raw rice bread using local ingredients for lunch. It is easy for children to do. We hope you will feel the change of seasons through activities in nature.
