Kimono Knowledge Lecture: Introduction to kimono culture (classroom lecture)

Kimono, an important part of Japanese culture, can be broadly divided into everyday wear and ceremonial wear. In this course, you will learn the basics of kimono, including how to fold a kimono, how to classify kimonos into everyday and ceremonial categories, and how Japanese people enjoy wearing them.

Based on the concept of "Easy Cozy Kimono," we introduce a modern "Kamiyabu Kimono" style that blends Japanese and Western influences. Take a stroll around the foot of Mt. Fuji in your favorite kimono.

Other notifications ・The class will be held in an area where ordinary Japanese people live. Ways of thinking may differ significantly from your own culture. Please participate with consideration and respect for Japanese culture. ・Service animals are not permitted due to the rental space regulations. ・Wheelchair users may participate if accompanied by a caregiver. Please let us know at least one week before the class. ・Strollers will need to go up and down stairs. If you wish to bring an infant, please be sure to have someone to watch your child, as they may need to be taken outside if their crying interferes with the class.ーー・The event will be held in an area where local Japanese people live. Please be aware that the customs and way of thinking may differ significantly from your own culture.
