Fushimi is blessed with abundant underground water that gushes out from the Momoyama Hills, and was once called ``Fushimi'', and it is said that full-scale brewing began about 400 years ago, as the water was suitable for sake brewing. I am. This sake brewery flourished as a castle town and a port on the Yodo River on the Tokaido, and its white walls stand out along the Uji River and Canal. Fushimi's townscape, where you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of a sake-brewing town where the Jukoku-bune sails through the swaying willows, has been designated as Kyoto City's Fushimi Minamihama Kaiwa Scenic Improvement District. ~Time Schedule~ We will give you a handmade guidebook when you gather, so please take it home as a reference during the tour or as a memento of your participation. 13:00 [Meet at the north ticket gate of Keihan Electric Railway Chushojima Station] Gather in front of the sake barrel object in front of the station! The tour starts here! It's a flat road, but the walk is approximately 2km, so please wear comfortable shoes on the day. 13:15 [Gekkeikan Okura Memorial Museum (some parts are not open to tours due to renovations after December 4, 2023)] This building is a wooden storehouse built in the Meiji period, which is still in use. You can drink the underground water used for sake brewing from the well in the courtyard. Like Fushimi's sake, it is very soft and delicious, so please try it. You'll be surprised at how soft it is. In the exhibition room, you can see traditional sake brewing tools that have been designated as tangible folk cultural assets of Kyoto City. 13:50 [Fushimi Yume Hyakushu] ☆ Set of sake with accompaniment and 3 types of authentic Japanese sake ☆ Shop and cafe "Fushimi Yume Hyakushu". In fact, this building used to be the former Gekkeikan main store built during the Taisho era. In addition to laurel wreaths, the store also sells a variety of Kyoto alcoholic beverages and souvenirs. We have a set of 3 types of sake, including a side dish. 14:30 [Kizakura Kappa Country] Speaking of Kizakura, it is famous for its sake commercials that use the Kappa character, but it is actually the company that created the first local beer in Kyoto. Therefore, Fushigura is unique in that in addition to watching the sake manufacturing process, you can also tour the beer factory. After your tour, sample sake or beer in the lovely courtyard. (From 100 yen per cup) 15:15 [Aburanaga] ☆ Set of 3 types of authentic Japanese sake with accompaniment ☆ More than 80 types of sake from all 18 breweries in Fushimi, mainly Ginjo and Daiginjo We have over 100 types of sake, including seasonal drinks. In addition, at the sake tasting counter inside the store, you can have a glass or try three types of sake in choko-sized cups and compare them. Just looking at the bottle will make you feel happy.

[Limited tour at a national cultural property that is not open to the public] Enjoy a special tour at the former Brewing Research Institute First Factory (Red Brick Sake Brewery), a national cultural property that is normally closed to the public, and enjoy sake manufacturing. Learn about the history of modernization. [Special tour of the Red Brick Sake Brewery] You can tour the Red Brick Sake Brewery and feel the depth of its history. Among them is the ``Hyakunen Sake Brewery Project,'' a project that aims to age sake for decades. The Red Brick Sake Brewery in Oji, Tokyo, was built in 1904 as part of the newly established Sake Brewing Research Institute, a facility where cutting-edge technology was used to support the modernization and evolution of sake production. It is the only place in Japan where technical development and training related to sake production have been held for 120 years, and it is considered the ``sacred place for sake brewing'' because people who aspire to become sake brewers learned here. After that, the research institute was moved outside of Tokyo, but the symbolic red brick sake brewery remained and was designated as a national cultural property in 2014. Since it is not normally open to the public, it remains a hidden gem of Tokyo. [Limited to this tour! Tasting of specially made new sake with commentary from the toji] (*) A toji is a person in charge of sake brewing at a sake brewery. A person with the qualifications of Touji and Kikisakeshi (Japanese sake sommelier) will introduce you to the best sake. Afterwards, we will host a sake tasting workshop where you will learn about the different types of sake and the stories behind their production. All of this takes place in the atmospheric old koji room inside the Red Brick Sake Brewery. [Introducing sake that can only be sampled here] You can also enjoy tasting Tokyo Port Brewing, which you won't find anywhere else. [Enjoy a wonderful pairing dinner with Japanese sake that focuses on fermented foods] This is a special menu that was newly developed by the chef for this tour and can only be enjoyed on this tour. The elegant restaurant serves special dinners based on Japanese fermented foods, paired with a variety of sake. This is a tour that allows you to get a feel for Yokohama and make it a memorable trip, rather than visiting each famous spot quickly. At the time of Perry's arrival, Yokohama was a small, semi-fishing, semi-farming town of 100 households, but it has developed as a gateway to foreign countries and is now the largest city in Japan. The Minato Mirai area continues to evolve as a tourist destination, including the Red Brick Warehouse, Zou-no-hana Park, Hammerhead, and Air Cabin. As for food, there are many products that originated in Yokohama, such as bread, gyu-nabe, ice cream, and Neapolitan, and there are many shops that have been in business for over 100 years. Above all, the world's largest Chinatown highlights Yokohama's unique character. Yamashita Park, Nihon Odori, and Minato Mirai have also become filming locations for TV and movies. Therefore, people of all generations feel some kind of familiarity with Yokohama.
