Electric cycling and exploring unexplored areas at a hidden spot just over an hour west of Shinjuku! A local guide will take you on a special route through the scenery of nature and Satoyama, which is hard to believe that you are in Tokyo. With the help of an electric assist, you can easily climb the slope, encounter a huge tree, greet the fish swimming in the clear stream, throw stones in the river, take a break on the wooden deck overlooking the valley, and buy some local sweets. We start by walking through the streets of Kanaya, which flourished as a stone-cutting industry from the Edo period to the Showa period, and then head to the Nokogiriyama Ropeway Station. After entering the grounds of Nihon-ji Temple and worshiping the "Hyakushaku Kannon," we trace the scenery and history of the remains of the quarry, which once flourished as a stone-cutting industry and now stands like an ancient ruin. Nokogiriyama is known as a low-profile mountain on the Boso Peninsula. On its southern side is the grounds of Nippon-ji Temple, the imperial temple of Emperor Shomu, which will celebrate its 1,300th anniversary in 2025. This plan is a half-day tour to experience the charms of Nokogiriyama Nippon-ji Temple, starting from JR Yasuda Station, walking along the main approach to the temple and climbing Nokogiriyama from the mountain gate. Once inside the Nippon-ji Temple grounds, you can enjoy the mystical atmosphere of the tallest Buddha statue in Japan (as a seated statue and rock-carved Buddha), as well as the 1,500 arhat statues arranged on the mountainside. This is a trekking tour where you can enjoy the nature of Hakone. The setting for the tour is Miyanoshita in Hakone Town.
