Speaking of trekking in Chichijima
Explore the subtropical jungle to the top of a giant heart!
Aim for a magnificent panoramic view overlooking the blue sea and sky
Heart Rock (Chihiroiwa) at the southern end of Chichijima, a World Natural Heritage Site. The part that was accidentally dyed with red soil due to volcanic activity looks like a heart when viewed from the sea side, so it is called this way. Standing on a 260-meter-high heart, the spectacular view is a panoramic view that will blow away the tiredness of walking in the jungle!
The trekking course takes about two and a half hours one way to reach the summit. It is a course for relatively healthy legs in Chichijima, and it is recommended for those who want to walk firmly for a day! Along the way, we will fully explain the flora and fauna that are World Natural Heritage Sites. You can also see battle ruins such as moats and military vehicles on the course that was a military road during the war. It is a special course where you can feel both the nature and history of Ogasawara.
