Takehara City (Hiroshima Prefecture) Townscape Preservation District, known as the Japan Heritage ``Takehara Old Townscape Preservation District'' and ``Aki's Little Kyoto'', has been designated as one of the top 100 cityscapes, and was also designated as a Japan Heritage Site in 2019. Ta. Takehara is said to have first been cultivated as a manor land for Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto during the Heian period under the Private Property Law of Konta Eiten. Nokogiriyama is known as a lesser known mountain on the Boso Peninsula. With its jagged ridgeline resembling the teeth of a saw, and the remains of the quarry where Boso stone was quarried by the stone-cutting industry until the Showa era, it looks like an abandoned building, and this otherworldly space that appears in the middle of nature has become popular. On this tour, you will pass through the streets of Kanaya, which once flourished as a stone-cutting industry, and climb the "Sharikko Road," a road that once transported quarried stone, with a guide. While enjoying the climb, which is low above sea level but has a large elevation difference, you will feel the breath of the craftsmen of the time, and trace the history of how Boso stone supported Japan's modernization and declined over time.
