Plan description

It is a townscape walking tour of the world heritage Iwami Ginzan. On this tour, you will walk around the historic townscape of the World Heritage Site with a local guide from the Iwami Ginzan Guide Association. *Please note that this tour does not visit the mine shaft where silver was mined. The people of the town have continued to live in consideration of the landscape while protecting the ruins. As you walk through the town, you can feel the way of life that unites the community and values the town. During the tour, you will stop by a long-established confectionery shop that has been around since the Edo period and enjoy interacting with the locals. At Kanzeonji Temple, you can see the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine ruins and the townscape lined with red Sekishu tiles. Enjoy a leisurely stroll with your guide. One bottle of mineral water is provided for each participant. After the tour, you will receive a souvenir of your participation.

A townscape that takes the scenery into consideration!

Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine once created world cultural and economic exchanges. People still live in the townscape of Omori, which has preserved the remains of the mine and its rich nature. The nostalgic scenery that makes you feel as if you have slipped back in time to the Edo period is full of the residents' feelings for the town.

A souvenir will be presented at the end of the tour.

It is a long-established handmade sweets shop that is said to have been eaten by silver mine miners. This is a product that can only be purchased at Iwami Ginzan, so please take it as a souvenir.
