Our first day in Kyoto was a bit of a wild ride but nothing topped our chopstick making Experience. My wife and I were on honeymoon and weren't sure what to expect. The house took us into his lovely machiya and did his best to communicate with us despite his difficulty with English and our difficulty with Japanese. He was nothing but helpful and guided our experience. It was quite amazing being shown how to shape the chopsticks and polished them into their final product. We ended up passing around our phone with Google Translate and sharing stories which made the experience memorable
