This plan is conducted in Japanese by a Japanese taiko instructor and includes an English translation guide. Wadaiko is a traditional Japanese culture that has been around for over 5,000 years, with close ties to samurai, kabuki, festivals, sumo, and more. It can be enjoyed by people of all ages, genders, nationalities, and even those with no prior experience playing an instrument. It combines elements of sport and brain training, and is used at shrines and temples as an instrument that is inhabited by gods, to ward off evil and pray for happiness, making it a perfect gift or celebration. Our ancestors were shinobi samurai who started to serve Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate) in 1582. The clan served the shogunate for 265 years. In 1868, the clan declined the invitation from the Meiji Government and became independent. We are the only lasting shinobi clan in Japan. We invite you to come to our clan dojo where real master practitioner and professional interpreters take charge of all workshops and seminars. This is good for people who want to get a deeper insight into our ninja and samurai cultures . We still handcraft our tools and weapons. Feel free to ask any questions as we have kept our shinobi samurai tradition for over 450 years.Our ancestors trained locals and their servants to be shinobi.(Ninja is a new word used in movies.
