Komatsu Matere has played a major role in the history of Ishikawa's textile industry development, where you can learn about the latest environmentally friendly dyeing technology. It is currently located in Nomi City, which is adjacent to Komatsu City, but when it was founded, it was located near the current Komatsu City Hall, and its predecessor has a history of being established as part of the Komatsu Textile Industry Cooperative. Komatsu Matere, which has improved the technology of dyeing and processing various fabrics according to needs, has received a lot of attention from the fashion and textile industry around the world. Currently, we supply cutting-edge materials not only in fashion but also in fields such as interiors, vehicle interiors, medical welfare, and building materials. In this program, we will introduce the fabric laboratory "fa-bo" that Komatsu Matere renewed in 2021. Designed by world-famous architect Kengo Kuma in 2015, "fa-bo" is a facility where you can experience the charm and history of fabrics, such as an archive of cutting-edge fabrics and an exhibition of architectural models using Komatsu Matere's materials. It has become. You can also experience dyeing using Komatsu Matere's technology. * For foreign nationals: Information on the day will be in Japanese only.
At "fa-bo", where you can see the inside of the factory, you can browse the 50,000 fabric samples that Komatsu Matere has accumulated so far. An irresistible archive not only for fashion lovers but also for professional fashion professionals such as designers. No matter how much time you have, it may not be enough.
Komatsu Matere is now involved in the development of many cutting-edge materials, but dyeing is one of the basics of Komatsu Matere's processing technology. It is one of the technologies that has been studied for a long time. In this program, using the processing technology of the environmentally friendly material "Onibeji", which Komatsu Matere established in 2014, you can choose your favorite material from four types of "mask, drawstring purse, coaster, and eyeglass wiper" and experience dyeing. You can do it.
By using the waiting time of the dyeing experience, you can make goods using the scraps produced in the production process. Komatsu Matere is also actively engaged in SDGs activities, but you can learn through the workshop what kind of efforts you are making in the processing process of textiles and textile materials.
