This is a quiet urban pottery class in the heart of Osaka. You can use an electric potter's wheel to shape your vessels. The appeal of DOMU's experience class is that you can experience everything from kneading the clay to creating the shape. Whether it's your first time, your second time, or you have experience, we are waiting for anyone who wants to try pottery. You are welcome to come alone, or bring your loved one, a close friend, or your precious family, and create memories together. Our veteran instructors will help you with your artistic activities. Let's have a great time.
Kana was an amazing instructor with great patience and encouragement. She thoroughly showed the ropes of kneading the clay with 'flower' shaping as prep; wheeling to further prep the clay by 'killing' it before giving it life with your creation/expression. Simply put, she showed a firsthand demo overlayed with explanations behind the underlying philosophical concepts. I really enjoyed her teaching and she was very encouraging through all my failures. Highly recommend it for first-timers, solos, couples, friends, fam, and all ages - so much fun!

*All my classes will be private until the corona converges. (We will change the number of participants after booking.) In this class, you can experience the basics of the tea ceremony and how to make matcha. Before guiding your friends from overseas, how about learning a little Japanese cultural keywords? It is sure to be a fun opportunity for people who want to test their English conversation skills and participate with people from overseas. (Please inquire in advance if there are any reservations from overseas customers for your desired schedule) Me (Omotesenke school professor) or my husband (both Omotesenke school and Urasenke school certificates) After enjoying the tea prepared by the chef, you can make your own tea and enjoy it. If you are with friends or family, it will be double the fun if you eat together. In our classroom, you can take a seat and draw hot water from the kettle to make the rice. It's not just an experience where everyone sits in the audience and stirs together with a bamboo whisk. I would like you to feel the real texture and weight of each small tool. I was born in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City, and I am a qualified teacher of the Omotesenke school who still lives in Nakagyo Ward. Her husband is a descendant of Ihei Ito, who developed somei-yoshino, a cherry blossom variety that is world-famous as the national flower of Japan, at the request of Yoshimune, the eighth shogun of the Tokugawa family. In our classroom, in addition to the antiques given to us by various people and the tea bowls we collected ourselves, we also use old ones given to us by family members. Since sitting in the seiza style puts a lot of strain on the legs, we also offer an experience using a table and chairs called the ryurei style. If you tell us when you make a reservation, even children, the elderly, and people with concerns about their feet and knees can participate with peace of mind. I think there may be cases such as "I learned it a long time ago, but I somehow forgot it", "I don't understand it even if I read a book", "I don't have time to continue learning". Would you like to experience it when it's like that? After the experience, be sure to stop by the Tsukigama and numerous tea ceremonies that can be found throughout Kyoto. I'm sure there will be new discoveries and fun. We can accommodate a large number of people on school trips, family trips, training trips, etc. Our classroom is a member of the Kyoto City Tourism Association. If you have any questions about the detailed etiquette of the tea ceremony or have any questions, please feel free to ask. (Note) *You are free to take pictures before and after the class. *Please refrain from taking photos and videos during the instructor's demonstration.

Blessed with an abundance of underground water veins that spring up from the Momoyama Hills, Fushimi was once called "Fushimizu" (literally "fushimizu" in Japanese), and it is said that full-scale brewing began here about 400 years ago because the water was suitable for sake brewing. It flourished as a castle town and a port on the Yodo River on the Tokaido, and sake breweries with white walls stand out along the Uji River and canals. The streets of Fushimi, where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a sake brewing town, with ten-koku boats sailing among swaying willows, have been designated as the "Fushimi Minamihama Neighborhood Landscape Development District" by Kyoto City. ~Time Schedule~13:00 [Meet at the north ticket gate of Keihan Electric Railway Nakashojima Station] Meet in front of the sake barrel object located immediately after exiting the north ticket gate! This is where the tour begins! It's a flat road, but you'll be walking about 2 kilometers, so please wear comfortable shoes on the day. 13:15 [Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum] ☆Three types of sake tastings, including Daiginjo, and a special Gekkeikan sake cup included☆The building is a wooden storehouse built in the Meiji era that is still in use. You can drink the underground water used in sake brewing from the well in the courtyard. Just like Fushimi sake, it is very soft and delicious, so please try it.
