Kotohikihama Beach's blue sea, white sand, and "singing sand" are the highlights. The Kotohikihama Singing Sand Cultural Center is the world's first hands-on learning facility with a singing sand theme. Inside the warm wooden interior, you can use singing sand as a point of contact to think about and learn about the relationship between humans and nature, and the conservation of the marine environment. One of the most popular experiences is the marine craft experience, which uses seashells, driftwood, beach glass, and other materials found at Kotohikihama Beach. There are a variety of hands-on programs available, including candle and frame making, and kaleidoscope making. Come with your children, as a family, or in a group of friends, and have fun creating beautiful works of art.
琴引き浜には何度か行った事があったが、琴引浜鳴き砂文化館には初めて行きました。
館内の説明も詳しくして頂き、マリンキャンドル作りもお手軽なアクティビティにも関わらず十分楽しめました。
Kotohikihama Beach is blessed with a well-maintained natural environment, making it home to a variety of shells. The waves carry the shells that have been shed onto the beach. Using these gifts from nature, such as conch shells and bivalves, and colorful reliefs, you can create one-of-a-kind original works of art. Beach glass (sea glass) is simply broken pieces of glass that have been polished by the shore to form round, frosted glass like candy, and can be arranged freely using green, blue, white, and brown beach glass. Enjoy using the spines and moving eyes of purple sea urchins as accents!
After your craft experience, enjoy the singing sand experience inside the facility! Does the sand sing? Does it really sing? What kind of sound does it make? Why does it sing? What kind of place is Kotohikihama? Can you swim in the sea? All your questions will be answered here! Please feel free to ask the staff anything you don't understand. You can also try underwater singing sand and booming sand, experiences that you can't experience at Kotohikihama.
There is a corner in the museum where you can search for tiny shells. It is not widely known, but tiny shells are 3 to 4 mm in size when they reach adulthood. They are tiny creatures that live on the beautiful beaches. Let's take a look at these tiny shells under a microscope! How beautiful they are! Even though they are so small, they have magnificent patterns, beautiful reliefs that look like yo-yos at a night market...it's amazing how beautiful nature can be. You can take home any shells you find in this corner! Please come and find as many as you can (^_-)-☆
