Amami Oshima was registered as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2021. As the reason for its registration is ``biodiversity,'' this island has many unique flora and fauna. Yuwandake is the most important place where many endemic species live. There are two routes to climb Mt. Yuwandake, but on this tour, you will walk up the wooden stairs from the 9th parking lot to the observation deck and shrine near the top. It's not a mountain trail, so it's easy to walk, and you can observe plants unique to Mt. Yuwandake along the way. (Anyone who has no problem walking or going up and down stairs in daily life can participate. The walk will take about 30 minutes each way.) On a clear day, you can see a wide view of Amami Oshima from the observation deck. However, as the name ``cloud forest'' suggests, Mt. Yuwandake has a unique environment where clouds and fog gather throughout the year, and there is a lot of rain. Therefore, if you're lucky you can see the view from the observation deck, but for me (the guide), the real view is on rainy days. We want you to enjoy this natural environment! After Mt. Yuwandake, we will stop at Materia Falls to take commemorative photos and have tea time. Date: Meet at Naze Sports Park in Amami City or pick up at hotel ↓ Transfer to Mt. Yuwandake (travel time varies depending on the pick-up location) Arrival at Mt. Yuwandake parking lot ↓ Arrive at Nature Walk Observation Deck/Shrine while observing flora and fauna ↓ Arrival at Shimoyama parking lot ↓ Transfer 15 minutes Materia Falls ↓ Arrive at hotel on the way back

~Enjoy the original scenery of Japan! Guided tour of the world heritage site "Oshino Hakkai" -Oshino Hakkai, where "Lake Oshino" existed long ago, has undergone many eruptions of Mt. After a long period of excavation and drainage, Lake Oshino dried up. However, some spring-fed ponds, whose water sources are underground water from Mt. Fuji, remained. The representative spring pond is the current "Oshino Hakkai". Oshino Hakkai, where the snowmelt water from Mt.Fuji has been filtered for decades in underground lava, and the clear water continues to flow. Beautiful and mystical, the reflection of Mt.Fuji on the surface of the water, colored by the changing seasons, and the harmony of human activities, which can be said to be the original scenery of Japan, will give visitors a sense of the original appearance of water and the people who should be preserved in the future. Walk in Shiretoko National Park, a World Natural Heritage Site, with snowshoes during the snowy season. If there is no snow, walk without snowshoes. As you walk through the natural forest, you can see waterfalls and huge icicles flowing in the Sea of Okhotsk, and drift ice depending on the season. You can mainly observe Yezo deer and wild birds. You may also see eagles, woodpeckers, and flying squirrels, which are natural monuments.
I came alone, but the guide was very nice and still tried his best to explain things to me and take care of me. Overall, it was still very worthwhile to experience this trip:)

This is a trek that goes all around the Shiretoko Five Lakes designated as a special reserve of Shiretoko National Park, UNESCO's World Natural Heritage Area, including elevated wooden paths. This is Japan's first revolutionary Forest Adventure experience in which a licensed leader guides the area where brown bears live. In addition to the lake, you can observe seasonally changing nature, such as sika deer, red fox, wild birds, alpine plants, and autumn leaves. Because they are not fed, all creatures they encounter are real wildlife. Please contact us as it may be possible to respond to times that are not in the selection column.
