It is a 2km walk to see the rare waterfall "Furepe Falls" that falls directly into the sea through the gaps of the cliffs.
It is a place where you can see the Shiretoko mountain range beautifully if it is sunny.
You can also observe how the site of the settlement is being restored to the forest by the Shiretoko 100m2 movement.
It is a place where you can often see sika deer and wild birds.
This is the easiest route on the Shiretoko trekking course. It is not a paved road that wheelchairs can pass through, but it is maintained to some extent so that even small children and the elderly can walk.
You may encounter various animals such as sika deer and wild birds. Professional staff will look around and close if there are brown bears.
You can observe how the land that became farmland due to the reclamation of Shiretoko, which began in 1914, is being restored to forest. There is also an exhibition facility for materials.

Frepe Waterfall where groundwater flows through the gaps between rocks A riverless waterfall where groundwater falls directly into the sea through the gaps between the rocks of the cliffs carved by the drift ice.
The Shiretoko mountain range looks beautiful on a sunny day! If the weather is nice, you can see the Shiretoko mountain range from Mt. Rausu to Mt. Iou.
You may meet animals in nature! ?? There is a high probability that you will meet wild animals in Shiretoko.
Aim for Furepe Falls! There may still be snow in April. In case of snow, we will prepare snowshoes free of charge.
Medium-sized woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker Depending on your luck, the birds look relatively good.

Approximately 10 minutes from the main accommodation Utoro, approximately 2 hours from "Memanbetsu Airport" via Route 334.
About 1 hour by bus from "Shiretoko Shari Station" on the JR Kushiro Main Line. Rental cars are also available in Shari and Utoro.
Rental cars are available at the airport, Abashiri Station, Shari and Utoro. Memanbetsu Airport-Utoro Onsen Airport Liner operates for a limited time. The night coach Eagle Liner from Sapporo goes straight to Utoro Onsen.
