An experience you can only have here! Put on a dry suit and walk on the drift ice! Drift ice begins to reach the Okhotsk coast from late January. At its peak, the Utoro coast is covered in pure white drift ice. Wear a special dry suit and walk on and touch the drift ice. A guide will support you, so even if it's your first time, you can feel at ease! ☆Tour times (held four times a day) 6:30-8:00, 9:30-11:00, 13:00-14:30, 15:30-17:00 ☆Schedule (Example: 9:30 AM start course)☆ Around 9:15 AM [Pickup] We will go around to each hotel to pick you up 15 minutes before the tour starts. Around 9:30 AM [Lecture] Once all guests have gathered, we will begin the dry suit fitting lecture. Around 9:50 AM [Departure] Once everyone has changed and is ready, it's time to depart! Immerse yourself in the world of drift ice in your own way♪ Around 10:40 [Going ashore] The fun time is fleeting. Although it's a bit sad to leave, we go ashore and get changed. Around 11:00 [Send-off] We'll send you back to your accommodation and the tour ends. Thank you for your hard work! *The schedule is a guide only.
You can't go up on the drift ice without wearing a dry suit. You will wear a dry suit prepared by Shinra. It's very warm because you wear it over your clothes, and it's waterproof so you don't get wet. Our drysuits are colorful! If you take a picture on the pure white drift ice field, it will be very photogenic. (color cannot be selected)
The only tour in Japan where you can get on and walk on the drift ice with your own two feet is here in Shiretoko-Utoro! The densely spread drift ice field stretches to the horizon, making it feel like walking on the moon's surface. There are a variety of drift ice, from large to small. Why not try and find one that you like?
There are many ways to enjoy a drift ice walk depending on the conditions of the day. You can take photos, touch the drift ice, or even look for cliones! Enjoy it freely and safely in your own way!

Drift ice of various shapes☆ Walk on drift ice of various shapes. Drift ice that moves and changes shape with the wind and waves. If you look closely, it looks like a mushroom or ice cream.
Drift ice as far as the eye can see! At its peak, the coast of Utoro is covered with drift ice. The horizon is so close that you wonder if you can walk on drift ice and go anywhere.
Take pictures and have fun! Try sitting on the drift ice or lying down. Please leave a nice photo of fun memories. *Please be careful not to submerge the camera.
Try floating ♪ Even if you go into the ocean, you'll always float thanks to your dry suit!
Luxurious time... If the weather and time are right, you can enjoy a walk while watching the sunset on the 3:30 PM tour. The drift ice and the sky glow orange, creating a truly magical sight.

Please cooperate by meeting at the accommodations, roadside stations, bus terminals, etc. If you are coming by car, please meet at the Utoro Shirietoku Roadside Station. After meeting, please follow the guide's car. If you would like a pick-up, the guide will come to your accommodations, etc. (Utoro area only). Please let us know your preferred meeting place when booking.
