Plan description

Without a guided tour, you'd easily get lost in the deep forests of Shiretoko. This tour explores these pristine forests on snowshoes. In the silent, snow-covered forest, you'll encounter and discover new things, such as the traces of various wild animals and the rustling sounds of animals moving about. Embark on an expedition into the forest where wild animals live! ☆Tour Times: January 20th - March 31st, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM; December 1st - January 19th, 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM ☆Schedule☆ (For a 1:30 PM start): Around 1:15 PM [Pickup] The meeting time in the Utoro area is 15-20 minutes before the start. *If you're coming by car, please cooperate with the on-site meeting. Around 1:30 PM [Arrival at the Shiretoko Nature Center] If you're meeting on-site, please arrive by the start time. Once you're ready, we'll move to the forest entrance for a lecture. Around 1:45 PM [Departure] Put on your snowshoes. Now, it's time to set off on your winter forest walk! What will you encounter today? Around 16:20 [Back] The tour ends when you take off your snowshoes. Guests who meet at the site will disband here. Around 16:30 [Drop-off] We will drop you off at your accommodation and the tour ends. Thank you for your hard work! *The schedule is a guide only.

A spectacular view that can only be seen on a guided tour ☆

We will guide you through a forest where you might get lost without a guided tour. Once you leave the forest, you will be greeted by a spectacular view of the cliffs.

With snowshoes, you can even go over the snow!

Wear the western kanjiki "snowshoes" prepared by Shinra on your own shoes and take a walk. If you're wearing snowshoes, you'll be fine even on the fresh, fluffy snow! It's like walking on clouds.

Encounter with wild animals

You may even encounter animals such as Ezo deer eating along the cliffs, Ezo red foxes walking freely, and Ezo flying squirrels on the trees!
