In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Try your hand at making an authentic parquet keychain by cutting and gluing parquet blocks that make use of the natural wood color! Wood comes in a variety of colors, from brown, red, yellow, and even purple. The parquet block bars that form the basis of parquet work are made in advance by instructor Matsuura. You cut them with a craftsman's saw and combine them to make hearts, leaves, and any other shape you like. Once firmly glued together, polish them with sandpaper and finish with oil to complete the piece. Instructor Matsuura of Studio Kaede is a talented artist who won the top prize at the Dobi Exhibition in 2019. He will kindly teach even beginners the authentic craftsmanship!
