“Amami no Sato” is a tourist facility where you can experience the nature, culture, and lifestyle of Amami, even though it is located on the mainland of Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a plan to make an original strap using Oshima Tsumugi thread produced in the workshop in the hall. A strap made by putting a wish written inside the braided cord is very popular as a wonderful souvenir! Why don't you participate in making a strap with your precious thoughts? After the experience, you can take a walk in the elegant Japanese garden that shows the expressions of the four seasons and the Amami-style garden that reproduces the virgin forest of Amami.

With a wish on the original strap

Kasuri threads that are dyed in advance to weave Oshima tsumugi. In this plan, you can make your own strap using this Kasuri thread. Choose 4 colors of Kasuri thread of your choice, make Japanese paper with your wishes and messages into a twisted shape, and knit it with a braid stand. Choose from about 20 types The combination will change depending on how you put in the effort when making the color scheme of the thread, so the strap of 10 people and 10 colors will be completed!
