A trip around the mystical Kumamoto and TakachihoDeepen the charm of Kumamoto and Takachiho and start a journey full of mysticism and natural wonders. First, head to Kamishi-Kimi Kumano-za, famous for its pilgrimage route decorated with nearly 100 lanterns, as if you were lost in a dream world. The shrine's sacred tree, Nagi, is also an ideal place to make a wish, as it symbolizes matchmaking and business prosperity. Next, head to Amanoiwato Shrine and experience the mystical charm of Japanese mythology. Amanoiwato Shrine is an ancient sacred place that enshrines Amaterasu Omikami. Each attraction has its own history and natural scenery, allowing you to feel the depth of Japanese culture and the splendor of natural scenery. We had an awesome time at the knife making experience in master Masaya Yoshidas workshop. One of his apprentices, Robert, a native English speaker, instructed and helped us all the way to the finished product. We love the knife and now use it in our Kitchen on a daily basis. Robert also answered every question we had about the rich history behind the craft of Japanese sword making and we got to observe and chat with the master too. Your knife is made from the same Tamagahane steel as a Katana, so it's a really cool and practical souvenir. Thank you so much for having us! Great memories!
