Sakaneya is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop in Izumo, which was founded in the 5th year of Meiji. Such a long-established Japanese confectionery store opened Kissa&co Sakaneya in April 2017. At Kissako Sakaneya, we are holding a Japanese sweets making experience for groups of 3 or more people. While the craftsman will tell you about Japanese sweets and anko, you will make 2 each of 2 types of seasonal namagashi (4 in total). After the experience, you can relax slowly as it is at the cafe. Choose from matcha, coffee, black tea, matcha latte, orange juice, or yuzu squash.

A quiet time to face yourself. How about a zazen experience? A monk will carefully guide you. Sit quietly at a Zen temple in the mountains overlooking Lake Shinji. No noise. Sit comfortably in nature. Wind, clouds, trees, birds chirping, sutras, bells ringing. Shapes of nature in each season. Even at the same time, you can refresh your mind and body in the same scenery and a world where there is no sound! You will have about 1 hour of hands-on experience. This is a fresh fruit Daifuku making experience by a cook who has experience teaching not only Japanese but also Indonesians, Japanese Brazilians, Vietnamese, and Taiwanese. Matcha is also served after the sweets are made. Basically, we will explain in easy Japanese (we may use tools such as translation apps as a supplement) and we will also give you recipes, so even those who are studying Japanese can participate with confidence.

It is a townscape walking tour of the world heritage Iwami Ginzan. On this tour, you will walk around the historic townscape of the World Heritage Site with a local guide from the Iwami Ginzan Guide Association. *Please note that this tour does not visit the mine shaft where silver was mined. The people of the town have continued to live in consideration of the landscape while protecting the ruins. As you walk through the town, you can feel the way of life that unites the community and values the town. During the tour, you will stop by a long-established confectionery shop that has been around since the Edo period and enjoy interacting with the locals. At Kanzeonji Temple, you can see the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine ruins and the townscape lined with red Sekishu tiles. Enjoy a leisurely stroll with your guide. One bottle of mineral water is provided for each participant. After the tour, you will receive a souvenir of your participation.
