At "Experience-based traditional Japanese inn Tabinosha," we offer you a mountain village experience that is unique to Shizuoka throughout the four seasons! Located in the northeastern part of Kakegawa City, one of the most popular tea-producing areas in Shizuoka, this area is loved by locals as the mountain of the tea characters, and the tea plantations spread across the large hills at the foot of Mt. Awagatake, which has been certified as a World Agricultural Heritage site, have been producing high-quality tea for over 150 years using the Chagusaba farming method. In this plan, you will enjoy a tea picking experience in the tea fields that the tea producers have painstakingly cultivated. The first tea is picked from late April to mid-May, the second tea is picked in June, and the fourth tea is picked from late September to early October, which are the tea seasons for the producers, so you can enjoy tea picking according to the season. You can also enjoy tea picking at other times of the year depending on the growth conditions of the tea leaves, so please ask us until around mid-November. Tea picking is not available from around November to mid-April because the tea leaves are not growing. Instead, we will take you to the tea fields to observe the "tea grass farming" method, a winter-only work, and from around March, you will enjoy picking wild vegetables that grow around the tea fields. For lunch, we will prepare dishes unique to tea-producing areas using the actual tea leaves you picked. You can enjoy them as ingredients in tempura, salads, vinegared dishes, and more. In addition, chameshi, which is made by mixing the picked raw leaves with boiled rice, is a special dish that allows you to enjoy the aroma of tea even more! Please give it a try!

West Coast Brewing (WCB) is a local craft beer brewery in Mochimune Fishing Port, Shizuoka City. While cruising Suruga Bay towards Mt. Fuji on the Suruga Bay Ferry, you can enjoy WCB beer while enjoying the sunset, starry sky and night view. We have prepared a special program that is limited to one group per day and allows you to enjoy Shizuoka tea with all five senses. The Higashiyama district, which produces tea that has been designated as a World Agricultural Heritage Site, is one of the highest quality tea producing areas in the prefecture, but in recent years there has been an increase in the number of dilapidated tea plantations in this area. In this plan, you will pick tea in a scenic tea plantation that has been renovated from a ruined tea plantation, and you will enjoy the picked tea with tempura or as a kaiseki meal with seasonal local ingredients. Also, as a fun activity before and after your meal, you can work up a sweat by climbing up to the top of Mt. Awagatake, the symbol of the area, for about 30 minutes. From the mountaintop terrace, you can see the large tea garden below, the Oi River, Suruga Bay, and the Izu Peninsula on the horizon. On clear days from autumn to winter, you can even see Mt. Fuji. After your meal, enjoy a sencha ceremony where you can brew delicious tea yourself using a teapot.
