At "Experience-based old private house inn Tabinosha", we will guide you through the seasonal Shizuoka mountain village experience! This plan learns from tea farmers who practice SDGs! Farm work help plan! Let's sweat a good day by helping the tea farmer's work for a whole day! It is a plan where you can experience [contribution to the global environment] and [practice of SDGs] through helping the work of tea farmers who make tea using the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System Chagusaba farming method.
Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture is one of the leading green tea producing areas in Japan. The local tea farm is designated as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System because it creates an environment that maintains a biodiversity ecosystem that coexists with nature in harmony with the old-fashioned "Chagusaba farming method." During the tea season from the end of April to the beginning of October and the winter off-season, tea farmers who make tea using the Chagusaba farming method have work all year round. In addition to the drop in tea prices due to the shift away from tea, the tea industry is already facing many challenges, such as an aging population and a lack of successors. It is a plan where you can experience [contribute to the global environment] and [practice SDGs].
You can sit in a circle with a tea farmer and eat the lunch that the tea farmer eats in the tea field = commonly known as "Nora-ben"! A bento box made with plenty of seasonal ingredients.

Time schedule
Gather at "Experience-based old private house inn Tabinosha"! After a 10-minute excursion, we moved to a tea plantation with a tea farmer.
Move to tea plantation After moving to the tea plantation by car, I greeted the tea farmer who will be taking care of me for the day, introduced myself, and then got to work!
Listen to an explanation about the “Chagusaba farming method” and start helping farmers with the actual work that day! In the tea season, tea bags filled with tea leaves harvested by tea farmers are transported to trucks by riding machines, and the loaded tea bags are transported to tea factories. The work varies depending on the season and the day. Follow the tea farmer's instructions and help with the day's work.
tea time There will be a break called tea time in the morning and afternoon. Sit in a circle in the tea plantation and take a break with delicious tea and sweets!
Nora dialect♪ Today's lunch is "Noraben" with plenty of seasonal ingredients! We will have it together with the farmers. * What is "Nora-ben"? In this area, it is called "Nora-ben" because busy farmers often do not return home and finish their lunch in the fields (nora).
Afternoon work started! Let's get used to the work, eat lunch, and help out in the afternoon with full power!
End Say hello to the farmers and say goodbye! I will come to help you again next year! After saying goodbye, we will return to “Experience-based old folk house Tabinosha” (moving by car) at 16:15. Thank you very much for the day ★
