Flower arranging is a field of flower design that was introduced to Japan in the early Meiji period along with changes in lifestyle, and in a broad sense, it is a general term for flower shapes excluding corsages and bouquets. In many cases, it refers to things made by inserting them into absorbent foam or displaying them in a container. Unlike ikebana, it does not matter where or how it is made, so it has come to be used for various purposes such as interior decoration and gifts. In Japan, where the four seasons are clearly defined, there was originally a custom of enjoying seasonal flowers. In modern times, there are fewer opportunities to feel the four seasons in daily life and it has become simplified, but through flowers, you can enjoy the rich seasons even more. Neriko is a black pill-shaped incense that was widely used during the Heian period. In The Tale of Genji, there is a scene in which Hikaru Genji, Murasaki no Ue, and other characters are actually created and evaluated, and it is still known as one of the Six Kinds of Kaorumono. It is also used in front of the charcoal in winter during tea ceremonies. Nerika is not something to be used at room temperature, but rather to be warmed to enjoy its aroma. We placed lit charcoal in an incense burner filled with ashes, placed incense sticks on top of the warmed ashes, and enjoyed the scent that wafted through the air. Enjoy the relaxing time and space as the charcoal warms the ashes, along with the scent. It is also recommended before welcoming guests. Zuko is a powdered incense that monks apply on their palms as a purifying scent in Buddhism. Among the Japanese scents that are used by transferring the scent to something, it is the only one that can be applied directly to the body. In ancient times, people used to collect the first morning dew that had accumulated on lotus leaves, mix sandalwood with the water, and apply it to their bodies. Unlike liquid scents, it is a powder type, so it has low volatility and does not easily diffuse into the surrounding area, making it a convenient scent that can be used without being noticed by those around you. "Kobo Seikan" has a workshop, shop, and cafe, and you can enjoy a tour of the Yamanaka lacquerware production site, experience turning the wood, and enjoy shopping, lacquerware, and cafes and sweets. In this course, we will visit the studio (I will explain) ~ Making a vase ~ Lacquerware experience at a cafe (with a drink) Here, the lacquerware craftsmen are working every day. In this experience, you can observe it up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will give you easy-to-understand instructions. This is a trekking tour where you can enjoy the nature of Hakone. The setting for the tour is Miyanoshita in Hakone Town. As you walk through the Showa retro town, you will come into contact with the history of the good old hot springs, and while thinking about history, you will walk through the dynamic natural valley that formed the basis of the hot springs. You will encounter moss and ferns that live in the moist environment at the bottom of the valley, and we will guide you into the microscopic world of moss using a magnifying glass!
