Abashiri is home to more than just a prison: its historical architecture and Okhotsk culture. On this tour, you'll explore Abashiri's history and culture on an electric scooter. Because the electric scooter moves at approximately three times the walking speed, you'll be able to fully experience the atmosphere of Abashiri and the winds of Okhotsk. You'll also enjoy a unique feeling as you look around from a height approximately 10 cm higher than usual. Along the way, you'll pass Abashiri's downtown area and the new Abashiri City Hall, completed in 2025, allowing you to see not only history but also the bustle and bustle of Abashiri today. At the Moyoro Shell Mound, the tour's goal, you'll learn about Okhotsk culture from approximately 1,300 years ago.
