Kannabe Highlands is home to Kannabe Volcano, the newest volcano in Kinki and the only one with a crater remaining. ​Trek through the river, using your whole body along the lava flow that was formed when lava solidified after it erupted about 25,000 years ago. Along the way, you can go close to a waterfall, grab onto rocks to move forward, feel the water pressure, and it's just like natural athletics! One of the things to enjoy is the outdoor break time, where you can relax in a secret place. *There are beginner to intermediate routes, so you can choose a course that suits the physical ability of the participants.

This event is held throughout the year, and after observing insects in the forest (larvae from autumn to spring), parents and children will explore the creatures in the river. On the day, gather at the meeting point and rent a Panasonic electric bicycle (with front and rear child seats, 20-inch and 24-inch MTBs are available for upper elementary school students) (free of charge). Put on gloves and go through the grass and turn over stones to catch fish and crayfish. Spring water and cold water points do not move, so you can catch them with your bare hands. The main targets for capture are turtles, frogs, catfish, Japanese mitten crabs, striped shrimp, Yamato swamp shrimp, American crayfish, Ukigoi, Chichibu, loach, Moroko, Motsugo, Japanese river snail, Taiwanese clam, dragonfly nymph, and river insects. Many creatures live behind the stones and many hide underneath, so turn over lots of stones to see them. Winter observations are easier to observe. Limited to summer, this is a nightly beetle and stag beetle hunting tour, aimed at small children. We will mainly hold the event on weekdays when there is less competition. We look forward to your early reservations. ▼Experience content On the day, we will visit several points and introduce tips for observation. We will observe beetles and stag beetles. You can see cicadas emerging, long-eared beetles, stag beetles, brown beetles, and on rare occasions, raccoon dogs. It is safe at night as there are few wasps. The number of observations varies depending on the weather, but generally ranges from a few to a few dozen at most, with fewer observed before and after rain. Please understand that we cannot commit to the number of observations due to the natural environment.
