Plan description

In the hot season, head to a natural athletic course created by lava. Kannabe Highlands is home to Kannabe Volcano, the newest volcano in Kinki and the only one with a crater remaining. Trek through the river, using your whole body along the lava flow that was formed when lava solidified after it erupted about 25,000 years ago. Along the way, you can go close to a waterfall, grab onto rocks to move forward, feel the water pressure, and it's just like natural athletics! One of the things to enjoy is the outdoor break time, where you can relax in a secret place. *There are beginner to intermediate routes, so you can choose a course that suits the physical ability of the participants.

Trekking lava flow, which is extremely rare in Japan

A lava flow is a terrain created by magma. Natural beauty is something that humans cannot make. There are only a few lava flows created by erosion of rivers formed on solidified lava, not only in Japan but also in the world.

To places you can't normally go with your guide

There is a walking trail around the Kannabe lava flow, but on this tour we will take you a little way off the trail to a secret spot where you can experience the unique rock surface firsthand.

Another world if you take a step from Muranaka! 3 minutes drive from the meeting place and start rubber trekking. If you walk through the village and step into the lava flow, you will find another world of beautiful rocks.

Experience natural athletics. In the middle of the course of about 1,6km one way, you can go near the waterfall, play with the rope, climb the wooden vine, and it's like a natural athletic!
