You will experience the traditional culture of flower arrangement in a Kyoto townhouse. After learning the basics, you are free to arrange the flowers as you like. In the grounds of Tada Shrine, where history and sanctity live, you can learn the mannerisms, spirit, and tactics of ancient samurai, and gain deep and authentic knowledge, including the structure and handling of Japanese swords. After wearing training clothes and mastering the basics of iaido, you will be specially allowed to stroll around part of the grounds while wearing your sword. ◆ Handmade Japanese Paper Experience In this experience, you will make handmade Japanese paper using fibers from the bark of the paper tree (kozo), which is the raw material for Japanese paper. You will be able to use a blind, which is an authentic tool for handmade Japanese paper. We will explain how to make paper in an easy-to-understand manner for beginners, so please feel free to participate. You can experience learning papermaking techniques directly from a craftsman.
