A special portion of the historic Tada Shrine grounds can be reserved for your use, allowing you to enjoy a quiet and solemn atmosphere without worrying about the eyes of other worshippers. This shrine, dotted with buildings designated as Important Cultural Properties and dedicated to Minamoto no Mitsunaka, is a special place for you to spend a luxurious time. While freely strolling the grounds of the shrine wearing a special sword, you can experience the samurai etiquette and history at a place where ancient samurai prayed for victory in battle, and experience a true samurai experience with your body and mind. This experience will allow you to feel the history firsthand and leave you with a deep impression that you cannot get from just sightseeing.
Aikido, which has spread around the world as a modern martial art, has been deeply influenced by swordsmanship and iaido, among the many ancient martial arts that its founder, Morihei Ueshiba, studied in his youth. The movement of the center of gravity and the distance that accompanies the action of drawing the sword (drawing the sword), as well as the "principle of the front" that controls the opponent's movement, are all common to iaido and kenjutsu, and are the basis of Aikido movements. In fact, the influence of iaido and kenjutsu on Aikido is clear, as the accuracy and the way the power is transmitted change dramatically just by adding the awareness of "slashing" to Aikido techniques. However, the important thing is that you cannot learn the truth of Aikido from any iaido or kenjutsu. It is no exaggeration to say that among those who currently practice iaido and kenjutsu, only Isao Machii can correctly speak about and practice the essence that is the origin of Aikido. By learning the principles of authentic Iai and Kenjutsu that he conveys, you will gain insight into the essence of Aikido and a deeper understanding of it as a martial art.
