Shushinryu Iaijutsu Strategy An old-style martial art based on actual combat, created by Isao Machii after renaming the Musou Jikiden Eishin-ryu Machii school. Its history spans about 600 years.

Isao Machii He holds six Guinness World Records, has been featured in various media both in Japan and overseas, and is the world's best Iaido master who serves as an instructor in martial arts associations overseas. If you search for "ISAO MACHII" on YouTube, you've probably seen him.

Government Office This ceremonial hall and martial arts hall was completed in 1986 on the former site of the administrative office on the east side of the temple grounds as a place for the spiritual and physical training of both the arts and martial arts, in order to pray for the divine blessings of the enshrined deity. The building area is 660 m2, with a plaster wall construction and real tile roofing. The interior is finished in wood using cypress, cedar, and keyaki wood.
Inside the Tada Shrine You can rent out this magnificent martial arts hall exclusively to learn Iaijutsu and swordsmanship.
Around the palace A quiet atmosphere surrounded by lush trees.

The vast grounds Tada Shrine was founded by Minamoto no Mitsunaka in the first year of the Tenroku era (970) and is known as the birthplace of the Seiwa Genji samurai group.
The meeting place The entrance to Tada Shrine. We will meet at the top of these stairs.

Namdaemun Gate (Prefecture designated important cultural property) This was the original Niomon Gate of Tada-in Temple, with Nio statues on both sides. When Shinto and Buddhism were separated in 1871, the Nio statues were moved to the Manganji Temple's Sanmon Gate and enshrined there.

Zuishinmon Gate <Nationally designated important cultural property> It was restored by the fourth Tokugawa Shogun, Ietsuna. It is an eight-legged gate built using the traditional method known as San-en-zukuri and has walls on both sides. Two statues of the guardian deities, Toyoiwamato no Mikoto and Kushiiwamato no Mikoto, are enshrined here.

East Gate (Prefecture designated important cultural property) It was rebuilt by the fourth Tokugawa Shogun, Ietsuna, and is unusual for a Korean gate in that it has a thick wooden shaft overall, a torii-style structure for the main pillars, and the roof gable above the supporting pillars is visible from the front. It is considered an important building relic from the Edo period.

West Gate (Prefecture designated important cultural property) It was rebuilt by the fourth Tokugawa Shogun, Ietsuna, and is unusual for a Korean gate in that it has a thick wooden shaft overall, a torii-style structure for the main pillars, and the roof gable above the supporting pillars is visible from the front. It is considered an important building relic from the Edo period.

Rokusho Shrine (Prefecture designated important cultural property) The shrine enshrines the gods of Ise, Kamo, Inari, Kasuga, Sumiyoshi, and Kumano. It was founded in the Kamakura period as the guardian shrine of the former Tada-in Temple and as the head shrine of the 72 villages of Tada-sho. The current shrine building was rebuilt in the late Muromachi period in a three-bay style, and the architectural style, joinery, straw raincoat bundles, kenyu, and other detailed techniques are extremely valuable.

Itsukushima Shrine (Prefectural Important Cultural Property) This shrine enshrines Princess Ichikishima. At the former Tada-in Temple, she is also known as "Benzaiten-jo" and has been worshipped by many since ancient times. The one-bay shrine building was rebuilt in the late Muromachi period.

Onikobe Pond It is said that when the enshrined deity, Minamoto no Yorimitsu, defeated the demons of Mt. Oe, he washed the head of the demon leader, Shuten-doji, in this pond. In summer, you can see the spawning of the Moriaogaeru (Forest Green Frog), a species endemic to Japan that is also designated as a natural monument in some areas.

Gohonden <Nationally designated important cultural property> It was founded in 1667 by the fourth Tokugawa shogun, Ietsuna.
