Why not try writing characters with all your heart and soul using a large brush held in both hands, like the ones you only see on TV and in magazines? The characters you create as you run around barefoot on a piece of paper bigger than a tatami mat will be a lifelong memory! The instructor, calligrapher Mikami, has a father and mother who are also calligraphers, and has been familiar with calligraphy since childhood. Mikami is very creative and energetic. Not satisfied with ordinary calligraphy paper, he runs around freely on the large calligraphy paper with a large brush held in both hands, and the characters he creates with his whole body are soon becoming a specialty of Naganuma Town. He also performs at Naganuma Town's summer festival and sunset market, and sometimes collaborates with local musicians. This program was created not only to show people this fun, but also to let them experience it. Participants are first surprised by the weight of the brush filled with ink, and are very satisfied with the characters they write with all their heart, sweating. The written characters take time to dry, and there are limitations on where you can hang them. You may only be asked to take a photo in front of the work. At Senkoji Temple, which boasts a history of 1100 years and has a temple on the summit of Sakiyama, a sacred mountain on Awaji Island, you can visit the main hall while enjoying the view of Sumoto City, one of the eight scenic views of Sumoto, and experience a sutra copying experience in a mysterious silence, which is an extraordinary experience. If you wish, you can also visit Iwato Shrine after the experience. Sakiyama, also known as Awaji Fuji, is said to be the first mountain created in Japan in the legend of the creation of the world by the gods Izanagi and Izanami. At Senkoji Temple, which has a temple on the summit of Sakiyama, you can experience copying sutras. First, you can climb about 200 steps to tour the grounds of Senkoji Temple, learn about the origins of Senkoji Temple, and see the place where the Awaji Island custom of "Dango Korogashi", which is rare nationwide, is performed at the temple. You will also be greeted by a lion-like boar, instead of a lion-dog, enshrined in front of the main hall. Because it is a temple on the mountaintop, you can see the central and southern part of Awaji Island, and if the weather is good, you can see the Naruto Strait and Wakayama. Return to the temple office and go to the "Daishido" to experience copying sutras. In copying sutras, you will copy the general Heart Sutra. Place the paper on top of the model Heart Sutra and copy it with a brush pen. Beginners are also welcome. By copying the characters in a solemn space, you can spend a valuable time reflecting on yourself. You can donate the copy to the temple or take it home. After the experience, you can also visit "Iwato Shrine", a popular power spot that enshrines a huge rock where Amaterasu Omikami hid herself, about 10 minutes down from the temple. A 2-day, 1-night tour of Omikawa-tei, an old folk house with a history of over 150 years since the Edo period, located in Tako-cho, Chiba Prefecture, with overnight stay. On the first day, participants enjoyed sweets and coffee at a cafe in the town, followed by a tour of a Japanese temple and a Japanese sweets making experience. After checking in, guests will enjoy Japanese cultural experiences (tea ceremony, calligraphy, etc.), Tako rice rice ball making experience, and dinner at the accommodation facility, Omikawa-tei. The next day, we will stop at roadside stations and other places while touring the rural scenery of the town.

3 minutes walk from JR Omori Station, Tokyo①A calligraphy experience class will be held in the grounds of Omori Sanno Hie Shrine. In an ancient Japanese-style room, you can write kanji and kana using real brushes, Japanese paper, ink, and inkstones. All tools will be provided here, so please come empty-handed. You can take home the work you have written (if you wish, we will provide a frame and a seal). The instructor is a Bunka Calligraphy Higher Master and also teaches at several calligraphy classes in Tokyo. ②On the second floor of the same building, we hold lessons for the Iwama-ryu Aikido class, and if the time is right, you can also observe and experience it. In addition to physical techniques, there are also weapon techniques (using swords, canes, and daggers). ③In addition, simple tea utensils will be provided upon request, so you can experience the tea ceremony by making your own matcha. ④Nearby is Omori Shell Mound Park, where you can take a stroll and feel the Jomon period.
