You can try calligraphy with real brushes, ink, paper, and inkstones within the shrine grounds. You can take home your work. If the time is right, you can also observe and try Aikido. If you wish, you can also try a tea ceremony where you prepare your own tea with a bamboo whisk and drink matcha (additional fee). Nearby, you can stroll through Omori Shell Mound Park and get a feel for the Jomon period. The instructor is a certified cultural calligraphy instructor and also teaches at several calligraphy schools in Tokyo.
