The room is a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, but you can choose to practice calligraphy at a table with a Terakoya desk and chair in seiza. Let's enjoy experiences that you can't usually have, from practicing on Hanshi paper to creating works on colored paper and postcards! ~Experience flow~ ①Explanation of the experience plan and hearing. (5 minutes) While drinking tea, we will ask you about today's plan. ②The teacher will create a sample. (5 minutes) The teacher will write a sample of the desired calligraphy style and decide the activity content. ③Start practicing on Hannsi (Japanese calligraphy paper) (20 minutes) You will practice freely while adding explanations of brushes and kanji. Even if it's your first time, you can practice as many sheets as you like with free expression. ④A lecture before finishing the final work and an explanation of the points to finish the work. (10 minutes) If you would like to do a large-scale wall calligraphy performance, we will hold a first trial performance. If you wish, we will hold a lecture before finishing your work, such as making Shikishi (traditional Japanese square paper), postcards, or Sensu (traditional Japanese holding fan). After that, you can practice on special paper. Enjoy free expression. ⑤ Completion of the work and a commemorative photo. This is a calligraphy experience focusing on kanji. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced calligrapher, you can create memories of your trip by performing calligraphy on a wall (2m long x 3m wide), which you can't usually write on. Experience the wabi-sabi that disappears in 15 minutes. It is a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, but you can choose to practice on calligraphy paper at a Terakoya desk and chair while sitting upright. This is an experiential tour where you will experience calligraphy, one of Japan's proud artistic cultures, and create two works of art. Each participant will receive a piece of work created by our instructor. Original and not a print. The type to display on your desk comes with a frame as shown in the photo. Larger types are available only in kind. You will practice how to hold a brush, basic vertical lines, horizontal lines, sweeps, dots, etc., and we will create two works of art that you can display in your home. One will be a large piece to hang on the wall, and one will be a small piece to hang on a desk or table. The instructor is a master calligrapher and professional calligrapher certified by the Japan Educational Calligraphy Federation, and the host of the calligraphy class. Please join us on this experiential tour where you can experience calligraphy, create your own work, and even get professional work. The venue will be a rental conference room near Higashi Ginza Station.
We were 3 couples wanting to get real experiences about Japan, and I think this would also be great for families. This calligraphy class was superbly designed and delivered and we all felt it had been a 5-Star experience! All materials were provided and the location was easy to find and an excellent environment to try this activity. Our three guides were so friendly and helpful it made a lovely environment in which to experiment and produce our work.

This is a hands-on class for foreign visitors to Japan to experience the traditional Japanese culture of calligraphy. Located in Jimbocho, the town of second-hand books, this calligraphy class is supported by leading instructors who will help you have a memorable experience of Japanese culture, calligraphy. We will assign kanji to your name and prepare a sample in advance. We call it the BUSHIDO sign.Next, as a BUSHIDO LEARN, you will experience the weight and sharpness of a real Japanese sword. We will learn the basics of swordsmanship (Battou and Nattou).We will take a break with SAMURAI TEA on the way. You will be entertained at a tea ceremony, as samurai risked their lives to "entertain" and "be entertained".Before participating in the final battle of the Warring States Period, the Battle of Osaka, the participants are asked to prepare for death and reflect on their own lives, writing their last words with a large brush on every piece of paper. This is called Deathbed calligraphy.At last, he puts on his armor and helmet to become a bushido master and goes to battle at the castle of Osaka to gain military merit in the battle of Osaka. However, when the defeat was imminent, the samurai, for the sake of honor, would not suffer the shame of the noose, even if they lost the battle, but would die by harakiri or cutting their belly before being captured.
