This is a calligraphy experience focusing on kanji. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced calligrapher, you can create memories of your trip by performing calligraphy on a wall (2m long x 3m wide), which you can't usually write on. Experience the wabi-sabi that disappears in 15 minutes. It is a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, but you can choose to practice on calligraphy paper at a Terakoya desk and chair while sitting upright. Let's enjoy an experience that you can't usually have together. ~Experience flow~ ①Experience plan explanation and hearing. (5 minutes) We will ask you about today's plan while drinking tea. ②The teacher will create a sample. (5 minutes) The teacher will write a sample of the desired font and decide the activity content. ③First practice performance. (5 minutes) First, start with the activity with your own free idea. Get a feel for the expression of your thoughts. ④A lecture before the final copy and an explanation of the points to finish the work. (25 minutes) After receiving an explanation of how to use a large brush and the points, solidify the image on the paper and practice on special paper. Enjoy free expression. ⑤ Creating a large-scale calligraphy performance piece. You will receive plenty of stretching time, as well as a video and photos of the process of creating the finished piece, which will be provided digitally upon request. *We can also set a "time extension" upon request. Up to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
You can create a work of your own free will, as long as it can be expressed in kanji, such as your favorite feeling, motto, or your own name. First, you will learn a simple example from the teacher, then practice on calligraphy paper, and even beginners will slowly and steadily complete their work on a large wall, which you can then take home digitally with video and photos.
We will ask you about the characters you are interested in and your own name, and decide which characters you would like to use in your work. The teacher will make a sample for you.
We will practice on calligraphy paper starting with a simple example from the teacher. It's OK to fail. By listening to the teacher's advice and explanation of the characters, you will improve rapidly. You will feel like a calligrapher. If you wish, we can provide you with a video or digital photo of the work being created.

Enjoy the world heritage site Himeji Castle. Just 2 minutes walk away. The history of the castle began in 1346 when it was built by the Akamatsu clan. It was later inherited by the Kuroda clan and the Hashiba clan (Toyotomi Hideyoshi), and in the 1600s, during the Edo period, it was expanded to the current castle ruins by Ikeda Terumasa. The scenery changes with the seasons and is soothing.
Kokoen Garden 2 minutes walk Kokoen Garden is located at the site of the former Nishio mansion of Himeji Castle. It is named after the Kokodo Domain school that existed during the Edo period, and at Sojuan within the garden, you can relax at a tea ceremony and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Japanese garden.
Kameyama Gobo Hontokuji Temple Senba Gobo Hontokuji Temple 30 minutes trekking on foot or 10 minutes by car The Jodo Shinshu sect was divided into East and West Honganji temples in 1602. Nishi Honganji remained in Kameyama Gobo. Higashi Honganji moved to Senba Gobo, but the prefectural cultural properties such as the Kameyama Gobo Main Hall are power spots for worship. You can also visit the tranquil Main Hall.
Shoshasan Engyo-ji Temple: Approximately 25 minutes by car The 27th temple of the 33 Saigoku Pilgrimage. A special head temple of the Tendai sect. It has been used as a location for many films, including the Hollywood movie "The Last Samurai" and the NHK historical drama.
