Plan description

This is an experience where you remove venison from the bones and turn it into the "meat" that you normally eat. Have you ever thought about how the food you eat every day is made? Let's reconsider the meaning of "Itadakimasu" together with an active Matagi. ~Experience flow~13:00 Matagi school experience Learn about the trends of wild game and the current situation of Matagi from your Matagi guide. 13:30 Venison butchering experience Remove the venison from the bones to make it easier to eat. Carefully separate the venison from the bones using a knife. 15:00 Tasting wild game Let's grill and eat the butchered meat. Properly processed venison is delicious even with just salt and pepper. 15:30 Disband After cleaning up, the tour will disband at the site.

Matagi School

At the beginning of the experience, we will explain the trends of wild game around the country and the current situation of Matagi, and we will set aside time to deepen your understanding of the environment. Through the presentation, you will learn why wild game is needed now and why the Matagi culture has been passed down.

Dissecting half of a deer carcass!

The event will take place at a community center in Kitaakita City, where half of the deer will be butchered. You will be asked to butcher either the upper or lower half of the body, but we will decide which part to butcher depending on the number of participants and their characteristics. You can eat the butchered meat as is.

Thinking about the meaning of "Itadakimasu"

The entire experience will take 2 to 2.5 hours. We hope that this experience will provide you with an opportunity to reexamine the meaning of receiving life.
