[Make Akita's local dish, Kiritanpo hotpot] 120 minutes (estimated) Experience an authentic Kiritanpo hotpot experience, starting with mashing rice to make "tanpo." Using local ingredients such as water parsley and Hinai chicken, you can enjoy a homemade Kiritanpo hotpot packed with the delicious flavors of Akita, leaving you feeling warm and satisfied in both your heart and your stomach.

A full-fledged experience starting from mashing rice! Hand-made "Tanpo" made over a charcoal fire!

We use newly harvested rice from the rice-producing region of Akita! You can experience making "tanpo" by mashing freshly cooked rice in a mortar and pestle and wrapping it around a stick made of Akita cedar! Then, you can slowly roast it on an open hearth or charcoal grill until it becomes fragrant.

A luxurious and delicious Kiritanpo hotpot made with rich Hinai chicken broth and Hinai chicken meat!

A luxurious broth made from Hinai Jidori chicken is added to Hinai Jidori chicken meat, maitake mushrooms, Japanese parsley, burdock and other locally grown ingredients, and then homemade Kiritanpo is added and simmered to create an authentic Kiritanpo that even the locals will be impressed with! Enjoy a fun conversation while munching on Kiritanpo soaked in rich broth, and take home an unforgettable taste of Akita and memories as a souvenir from your trip.

Make your own "Tanpo" using single-origin Akita Komachi rice! We use newly harvested Akita Komachi rice! This single-origin Akita Komachi rice (produced by a single farmer, not a mix of rice from multiple farms) has been painstakingly produced by local farmers. The freshly cooked rice is "half-mashed" in a mortar and pestle until it still retains its graininess, and then wrapped around an Akita cedar skewer to make the "tanpo."

The aroma of charcoal-grilled tanpo! Kiritanpo is made by grilling and slicing tanpo. It is grilled slowly over a charcoal fire in an irori hearth or a hibachi brazier until it becomes fragrant. Enjoy chatting around the fire. Please bring your favorite drink.

Fresh local vegetables Our inn is located in the Tsuzuriko district, a famous producer of Japanese parsley! We also use fresh, locally sourced ingredients, such as the thick and soft Shirakami leek, a brand of leek from Noshiro City, to help you enjoy the delicious flavors of Akita.

8 minutes from the nearest Takanosu IC on National Route 107. 500m from Takanosu Roadside Station. *Parking space is limited in winter due to snow accumulation. Parking: 3-5 cars. Large buses: Not permitted.

Selling points regarding safety

During the Kiritanpo cooking experience and rice-based breakfast (lunch) experience, we will use a portable gas stove, a charcoal grill, knives, etc. We will take great care to avoid burns and injuries, but just in case, we will take out accident insurance for the experience.
