Plan description

Why not try wearing a kimono and taking photos in a small photo studio renovated from a historic old house near Nijo Castle in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan? We are a photo studio founded in 1932, and Kyoto Salon is one of our many photo stores. We have entrusted the thoughts of many people to photos, and have delivered happy moments to everyone while further evolving our honed photography techniques and hospitality to customers. This time, we would like to help people who come to Kyoto for a trip to create wonderful memories by capturing their shining smiles and happy moments. If you wish, you can also experience calligraphy after the photo shoot and after taking off the kimono before the photo data is ready. At that time, you can take photos freely with your own smartphone or other device!

The photos will be taken by a professional photographer who usually takes photos of bridal, Shichi-Go-San, Coming of Age ceremonies, etc. In addition to taking photos inside the salon, we will also take beautiful photos with the Kyoto cityscape outside the salon in the background.

Your photo data will be sent to you on the same day!

The photo data will be given to you at the end of the plan, so you can upload it to social media right away. Show off your kimono look to everyone!

Time schedule

Set Please come to Storyteller Kyoto Salon (1150-2, Chikaracho, Senbon-dori Marutamachi Sagaru, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture).

Kimono selection Please choose your favorite kimono, obi, and hair accessory. [10 minutes] If you are unsure, our staff will give you advice on what will suit you best.

Dressing Our staff will help you put on the kimono. [30 minutes] (No makeup) (For women with long hair, we will do a simple updo)

photography We will take photos in the salon, at the entrance, or near the salon, using traditional Japanese umbrellas and other accessories. We will show you several sample photos, so please choose your favorite background and pose from them. [About 50 minutes]

Please enjoy some tea or some calligraphy while you wait for your photo data to be prepared. After the shoot, you can relax, drink tea, or do calligraphy (if you wish) while we give you 10 photo files, so you can upload them to social media right away! [30 minutes] (We will ask for your email address and share the JPEG files on Google Drive. Please download them within the time limit.)
