After stripping the bark from the tree, Uetsu Shina cloth is made entirely by hand, going through 22 processes over 365 days. The experience of using this precious Shina is unique to this area. Because each strand is a natural fiber with a different expression, it can be made into unique and attractive charms and earrings. It is also nice that the venue is the footbath cafe Chitto Moche, within walking distance of the inn at Atsumi Onsen. After making it, enjoy a relaxing tea time. Of course, the Shinamokko tassels make a great souvenir from your trip.

Daichan Farm is a farm in Nishimurayama-gun, Yamagata Prefecture. Local cuisine cooking ♪ You can make the following local dishes. Sasamaki, squid soup, chilled soup, imoni, natto soup, ozoni, frozen rice cakes★Sasamaki rice soaked in urukashi overnight, drained, wrapped in bamboo leaves, boiled, preserved food (sprinkled with soybean flour containing sugar) ★Frozen rice cake A local dish made by mashing rice mixed with non-glutinous rice during the cold weather, freezing and drying it, cutting it into rice crackers, drying it for three months, then frying it and seasoning it with salty-sweet soy sauce. ★Yamagata beef, tofu, konnyaku, and plenty of vegetables are used to make this local soy sauce-flavored local dish. ★Natto soup In Yamagata in winter, natto soup is often served to warm the body. [June to November: held on weekdays] Akashiba Gorge is a scenic spot in Bandai Asahi National Park with a stunning landscape. The area is covered with broadleaf trees such as Japanese maples, maples, and beeches, and is a famous spot for autumn leaves that turn bright red every fall. It is said that the name Akashiba Gorge came from the fact that it was called the "Red Wall of Japan." The Arakawa River, where the gorge is located, looks like a rapid when viewed from National Route 113, but on this tour, you will canoe in a relatively calm area surrounded by granite. The field has a different flow than canoeing on a lake, which makes you feel nervous. After warming up, you will paddle upstream against the flow of the river in the first half. With a break in between, you will canoe down the valley in the second half. The view of Akashiba Gorge from the water with a guide is exceptional. *In 2025, the tour will be held from Monday to Friday. If you would like to take the Akashiba Gorge canoe tour on weekends, please contact us. On weekends, we mainly hold canoe tours around Lake Shirakawa and Mibuchi Valley. The tour will be held even if it rains, but if the river is flowing very fast, the tour may be canceled at the discretion of the local guide. In that case, the fee will be fully refunded. Nordic walking involves walking with special poles in both hands. It is a fitness sport that is said to be effective for rehabilitation and weight loss because it is a full-body exercise that puts less strain on the knees. The walking course is within Noshiro City, but the course changes on each day, and the course includes the city's erosion control forest "Kaze no Matsubara" (a pine forest with a total length of 14 km from north to south), Noshiro Park, and Noshiro's "town center". Enjoy the city of Noshiro while walking. Special poles for Nordic walking are included in the experience fee, so you do not need to prepare poles. *Please wear comfortable clothes on the day. Since you will be holding the poles, it is convenient to carry luggage in a backpack or shoulder bag that leaves both hands free.
