Snow is fun! Experience making a mini snow igloo with Yokote's high-quality snow! Anyone can participate, including families with children and those who want to experience snow. Snow igloos are a seasonal feature of winter in Akita Prefecture. In Yokote, the "Yokote Snow Festival" is held every year on February 15th and 16th as a New Year's event to worship the water god, with a history of about 450 years. It is famous for the construction of about 80 snow igloos, each about 3 meters tall, throughout the city. In addition, about 2,000 "mini snow igloos" are made by local people and children every year at the venues of Yokote Minami Elementary School and Hebi no Sakigawahara, and candles are lit inside at night. Let's make an original mini snow igloo, one of a kind in the world, using the snow of Yokote, the home of snow igloos and a heavy snowfall area. After making the mini snow igloo, take a break with a hot drink. Candles will be lit in the mini snow igloo you made in the evening. Participants will also receive candles and Yokote sweets as gifts!

This is the “Junsai Picking Experience” in Mitane Town, located in the northwestern part of Akita Prefecture. In a swamp with a depth of 50 to 60 cm, the berries are harvested while riding in a small boat with a size of about 1 tatami mat and using a stick to steer the boat. Adults and children alike can safely experience picking, and we will carefully teach you how to ride a small boat and how to pick junsai, so even beginners can do it. When you pick each one by hand, it feels silky smooth♪ The experience of hand-picking in the actual Junsai marsh is a surprisingly fresh experience. With the full cooperation of the brewery "Oonogawa" in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, you can experience sake brewing from rice planting to harvesting, fermentation, pressing, and bottling.
