Kiritanpo-nabe and damakko-nabe are traditional dishes unique to rice-producing Akita Prefecture. In this plan, you can enjoy kiritanpo hot pot and damakko hot pot from a restaurant in Fujisato town at the foot of the Shirakami Mountains. What's more, the place where you can enjoy it is in the great outdoors at the foot of the World Heritage Shirakami Mountains! Enjoy an extraordinary meal outside with your family, friends, or work colleagues. A warm hot pot that can be used as a lunch for a drive to the Shirakami Mountains, as a setting for dinner at a camp, or during a relaxing river fishing trip. Perfect! We will prepare a hot pot + kiritanpo ingredients set (or a damakko hot pot ingredients set), a tabletop stove, a serving plate, and an instruction manual. Please choose A) Kiritanpo hot pot or (B) Damakko hot pot. What is the difference between kiritanpo nabe and damako nabe?

Kiritanpo is made by mashing cooked rice, wrapping it around a cedar stick, grilling it until it is browned, and then removing the cedar stick. On the other hand, damakko is made by crushing freshly cooked rice into balls. The only difference between kiritanpo and damakko is the way the rice is solidified, but the seasoning and ingredients are the same.
