"Yaeyama Minsa" is a textile made of cotton, plain weave, and produced in Ishigaki City and Taketomi Town. Yaeyama Minsa-ori goes through many processes to create a single piece of fabric, but just like in the past, many of these processes are done by hand with great care. At the Minsa Crafts Museum, customers can actually experience ``weaving'', one of the processes of Yaeyama Minsa weaving, for themselves. In this experience, you can observe it up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will give you easy-to-understand instructions. Next, you will make your own original flower vase using the wood turning wheel and plane that the craftsmen actually use. You can experience full-fledged wood sawing through making single flower vase. Most of the shapes are carved by yourself, so it's a little bit difficult, but it's fun! ! !
