"Ko-Iga" is the highest peak of pottery in history, known as "exceptional beauty" in the world of tea ceremony, mainly during the Sengoku period, when Sen no Rikyu, Oda Nobunaga, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi were active, and the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Experience Awaji Iga making, a reproduction of the Ko-Iga making used in tea ceremony at that time, with one-on-one guidance from a craftsman who hand-made the largest six-tiered climbing kiln in Japan. This plan involves climbing together to the top of Benten-dake, the watershed of Mount Koya, and performing a purification and purification prayer in front of the shrine. Nokogiriyama is known as a lesser known mountain on the Boso Peninsula. This course includes a workshop tour (with explanation) - making a vase - lacquerware experience at the cafe (one drink included). Lacquerware craftsmen work here every day. In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. In this pottery atelier, a renovated 120-year-old townhouse located in the quiet streets of Tanimachi Rokuchome, Osaka, you can enjoy a full-fledged pottery experience using hand-building or an electric potter's wheel. The host, who is a potter, will carefully guide you, so even beginners can participate with confidence. The experience lasts about 2 hours. It is a private experience with a small group of up to 4 people, so you can concentrate on creating your own work in a calm space. The clay used is from Shigaraki, Shiga. You can freely create teacups, small bowls, mugs, etc. The atelier is located a short walk from Tanimachi Rokuchome Station on the Osaka Metro, near Karahori Shopping Street, making it an easy location to stop by in between sightseeing. Why not relax from the fatigue of your trip by touching the clay and spend some time away from your daily life "making things"? The completed work will be carefully delivered to your home at a later date after drying, glazing, and firing (delivery fee varies depending on region).
