Rustica is the only operator in the six Tohoku prefectures that is a member of the Rafting Association of Japan (RAJ), and adheres to the safety regulations set out in the association's guidelines. All of Rustica's rafting guides are certified river guides by the Rafting Association, and uncertified individuals will not guide. All guides have also taken first aid courses such as standard lifesaving, MFA, and WFA. Many of our guides have taken Rescue 3 Swiftwater Rescue Technician and other qualifications for rescue in flowing waters. We strive to make our tours safer through daily meetings, course inspections, maintenance, and guide training. We also make every effort to conduct safe tours, but in the unlikely event of an accident, we take out "injury insurance" for our customers and "liability insurance" for the operator in the "canoe/rafting" category for all tours in order to fulfill our responsibilities to our customers. |
