Plan description

This is Hokkaido! We will tour the scenic Maizuru area, where red-crowned cranes live. You might even be able to see some red-crowned cranes while enjoying a leisurely cycle around Maoi Hill and the countryside overlooking the Ishikari Plain.

Take a break at a delicious ice cream shop along the way.

We will stop by "Hanacha" in Naganuma town to enjoy delicious soft serve ice cream or gelato ice cream made with Hokkaido milk.

You might even be able to see some red-crowned cranes!

The Maizuru region was once home to many red-crowned cranes. It seems that a red-crowned crane chick has been born for the first time in about 100 years since the red-crowned cranes disappeared. They spend the winter in the Hidaka region and come to this area in the spring. SAN's cycling tours often take us along farm roads that even locals don't know about, but these are areas where you have a good chance of encountering red-crowned cranes. If you spot a red-crowned crane, be sure to observe it quietly♪

Beginners welcome! Pick-up available (including New Chitose Airport)

Even if you are a beginner or have no experience with road bikes, you can enjoy cycling with confidence as a guide from the Japan Cycling Association will give you a riding lesson before the tour. It is also recommended for women and families. Pick-up and drop-off at New Chitose Airport is also available.
