Plan description

Enjoy the view of the Aso Caldera on this guided trekking tour! One of the five peaks of Aso, Mt. Nekodake is one of the oldest in Mount Aso, said to have formed approximately 150,000 years ago. The jagged, sawtooth ridge between the eastern and western peaks gives it a distinctive mountain shape. While some routes have been closed since the Kumamoto earthquake, this time we'll walk the Tsurui Ridge Route. Enjoy the magnificent natural scenery of Aso at a leisurely pace as you reach the summit! From the summit, you can see Mt. Nekodake's main peak (Tengu Rock) to the west, the rugged rocky ridge of Mt. Takadake, and, clockwise, Mount Hiko, Mount Kokonoe, Yufu, Mount Sobo-Katam, Mount Okuzure, and the Kyushu Spine.
