Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, is one of the snowiest areas in Japan. The culture and climate of this region have been nurtured by living with the snow. Clear air, pure water, and the traditions and passion that have been passed down through the generations, brewers brew "Akita Kan-jikomi" sake. Oonogawa Co., Ltd. is a sake brewery located in Omori-machi, Yokote City, which won a gold medal at the National New Sake Tasting Competition this year. Akita sake brewing is created by Akita rice, Akita water, and Akita climate. With an awareness of terroir, you can experience sake brewing from rice planting to rice harvesting at contracted farmers, and from preparation of mash to fermentation, pressing, and bottling. 11:30 Meeting place: Oonogawa Co., Ltd. (Omori-cho, Yokote City, Akita Prefecture) 11:30-13:00 Explanation of the experience content, lunch with a popular rural bento, change of clothes, etc. 13:00-15:00 Move to the contracted farmer's rice field (about 5 minutes walk) Sake rice harvesting experience 15:30-16:00 Sake brewery tour, tasting, and sales event Disband *If you wish, we can introduce you to a pick-up service from Yokote Station. *If you wish, we can introduce you to accommodations and dinner venues in the city.
You can have a valuable experience such as visiting a sake brewery!
The second part is an experience of making yeast starter from washed and steamed rice (scheduled from November to mid-December), and the third part is an experience of putting a paddle into the mash, transferring the sake to the tank, and tasting freshly pressed new sake (scheduled from November to mid-December). If you participate in all three parts, you will receive a wonderful commemorative gift.
