You will learn how to process kozo, a traditional paper material, and hand-make about two sheets of Japanese paper in half a day to take home. ~Experience Flow~ 9:00 (13:30) Orientation An introduction to the types of Yoshino handmade Japanese paper, the experience procedure, and precautions. 9:20 (13:50) Workshop tour The papermaking process of kozo will be explained while looking at actual tools. 9:40 (14:10) Papermaking experience We will prepare the materials together, and each participant will take turns making paper. First, we will learn how to move the paper. Then, after making one sheet, we will take turns. 11:00 (15:30) Visit to the kozo field While the water is drained from the paper, you can take a short break and visit the nearby kozo field or enjoy the view of the Yoshino River bank. 11:30 (16:00) Drying the paper Your paper that has been drained of water is stuck to the dryer and dried.
