せっかく石垣島に来たので、何か手作り体験をしてみたいと思いました。調べていたら伝統的な織物があるのがわかりました。そして体験できる事も。織り機に向かってヨコ糸を通して、トン、トンと織り込んでいくのですが、 織り方も専門の方が親切丁寧に教えて下さるので安心して体験できました。途中で、これで大丈夫かしら?きちんとできてるかな?と不安になってもそばで専門の方が「大丈夫!その調子でね。」と優しく声を掛けて下さるので安心して最後までできました。 「特徴である5つと4つの模様は、いつ(五)の世(四)までも末永く」という意味が込められていると教えてもらいました。そういった事も教えて頂けたのも良かったです。 仕上げがあるので、後日の受け取りになりますが、無料配送もして頂けるので旅行の日程も気にせずに体験できるのもありがたかったです。 又の機会があれば、もう少し大きな物にも挑戦したいなと思いました。室内での体験なので天候を気にせずに日程を組めるので安心です。
