Plan description

Yaeyama Minsa is a cotton, plain-woven fabric produced in Ishigaki City and Taketomi Town. Its greatest feature is the five and four kasuri patterns, which embody the sentiment "Forever (five) in the world (four) and forever..." Yaeyama Minsa weaving goes through numerous processes to create a single piece of fabric, but just as in the past, many of these processes are carried out by hand with great care. At the Minsa Craft Museum, you can actually experience weaving, one of the processes in Yaeyama Minsa weaving. Instructors will provide direct and thorough instruction, so even first-timers can enjoy the experience with peace of mind. *For International Customers* Works created during the weaving experience require time for finishing and cannot be picked up on the same day. Only those who can pick up their work approximately two days later or later, or who have a shipping address within Japan, are eligible to participate in the weaving experience. We appreciate your understanding.

[C course★ Making table center (large)]

The Table Center (large) course takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Please feel free to use it during your free time. We have one loom available. Therefore, please note that if there are more than one person, the experience will be on a rotation system.

Enjoy the entire facility, from shopping to craftsmanship The Minsah Crafts Museum, with its white walls and red tiled roof, is conveniently located about 10 minutes by car from the city center. In addition to the experience, there are many other attractions such as the information exhibition room and cafe! Therefore, it is recommended even on rainy days. After getting a close look at the craftsmanship involved in weaving, such as dyeing and weaving, you can go shopping♪Find your favorite from a wide variety of goods such as book covers and pochette items.
